Discover Your Business Motivation
I remember, when stuck in a job I hated, discussing life and money with colleagues. We’d fantasise about having control over our time and pursuits.
We generally agreed: We didn’t mind ‘working’, we just wanted to work for ourselves.
To live free from the boss, the company, the ‘policies’, the system, and the stress.

Finding Your Business Motivation
If you’re reading this and thinking about starting a home based business to free yourself from the rat race, then you already have an advantage over me. No-one told me that it was an option!
I’m telling you, it can be done -because that’s what we did.
Even better, you have so many options to choose from.
Being self employed, doing something you enjoy, is liberating.
I think about other businesses I could start. Like, gardening for example.
I would advertise in the local paper and go ’round cutting lawns and trimming hedges, with the same equipment I already have.
It’s the same for you.
You could do anything you fancied.
If money wasn’t a barrier, I’d create an early morning coffee shop. One of those that are based in a hut at the train station.
When the 4 am commuters arrived, they’d smell the coffee and bagels, as the aromas drifted on a light breeze.
The bagels would be wrapped in white paper bags.
As new commuters arrive, they’d see the others eating and drinking, smell the food and head over to the dim light of the hut.
I’ve got it all figured out.
Knowing your passion is half the battle. Once you know what it is, you’ll see, it’s not impossible.
I could create one of those two businesses, and if I worked hard, could probably live off the profits. More importantly, I think I’d enjoy it. And that’s the key.
Your Life, Your Dream
Sometimes in life you encounter a person who exhibits behaviours you want for yourself.
I can remember a few people over the decades that have had such an impact on me.
One guy was running a cleaning company on the side of a busy professional job. The other was earning a qualification in plumbing so he could start his own business.
Sadly, I never worked directly with either of them, only engaging in a few passing conversations.
They displayed the tenacity and grit it takes to live beyond the wage-slave world.
Once you have your idea, you’ll need to work on it.
Everyday is an opportunity to change the next. I always try to wake up in an overly optimistic mood, for what that day will bring -and sleep having tried to achieve something positive.
As the day wanes, so will your spirit -but don’t let it fester.
Life is a journey of progression. I figure, I’d rather keep working on my dream, than to sit on the side never having tried at all.
